What are your best paddling memories?
Racing events, best memories are surviving. Surviving the Eleven Cities, not sure whether it was joy or relief. Being part of the last Battle of the Paddle in California aka the massacre of Salt Creek!
Where should everybody go paddling once?
Tiree in the Hebrides if you get a chance. Golden sand beaches, awesome surf and only one tree on the entire island.
What else do you like to do when you’re not out paddling?
Windsurfing, training instructors, Coaching and also organising SUP events.
What’s your best advice for other paddlers?
Make sure you wear a leash, and make sure it’s the right leash for the right conditions.
What are your favourite bits of kit?
Talon mitts for winter, Skyline and Horizon shorts for summer.
Where is left on your list of places to go?
A few places but Hawaii and Australia are currently at the top of the list. But also I’ve seen some amazing stuff from Scandinavia.
Describe your perfect day on the water?
Warm, head high surf and mates out on the water. But not too many mates in case they start snaking waves.
What are you most looking forward to in 2017?
Getting more juniors into the sport and also having the chance to race on the twenty-two foot, four-man Red Dragon!
