The Palomeras is a short and steep section with fun slides and sweet boofs … it’s a great place to hang out in the afternoon while having fun doing laps with friends.
How to get there
From Sort, take the C-13 road to Llavorsi, this should take about 15 minutes. You’ll then reach the middle of the village where you will see a right-turn. Cross the river Noguera Pallaresa and follow this road (L-504) until you reach the village of Tavascan. Make a left turn to the Tavascan ski resort. You will reach the right side of Palomeras just before you reach the ski resort.
Water levels
There is no gauge for this river, but it’s easy to see if it’s good to run. If you can see the rock from the entrance of the big slide, it’s too low. If the eddy at the take-out after the bridge is not there, it’s too high. If you get good water levels, then the drop at the top is good to go, so take a look.
When to go
This river runs during the springtime (end of April – July) but also when it rains a lot too.
